About this series

Raast is Pakistan's instant-payment network, run by the State Bank — the rails that let people move money between banks and wallets in real time, for free. This series tracks the total value of person-to-person (P2P) Raast transfers each quarter, and it's one of the clearest measures of how quickly the country is going cashless.

It starts from almost nothing after Raast's 2021 launch and climbs steeply as banks and wallets connect.
