SBP reports Pakistan's liquid foreign exchange reserves every week in two parts: the reserves the State Bank holds (the figure that matters for paying for imports and debt) and the net reserves commercial banks hold, which belong to their depositors. The monthly table goes back to 1948 and adds gold, SDR holdings and the reserve position at the IMF.
Import cover — how many months of imports the State Bank's reserves would pay for — is a PakDataHub derived indicator computed from SBP's reserves and the balance-of-payments import bill.
