Pakistan workers' remittances

Money sent home by Pakistanis abroad — monthly totals since 1972 and by sending country.

Latest figures

Workers' remittances are the money Pakistanis working abroad send home through banks and exchange companies. They are Pakistan's largest source of foreign exchange after exports and pay for a large part of the import bill. SBP publishes them monthly, in total and by the country they were sent from.

Gulf countries (Saudi Arabia and the UAE emirates) and the UK and USA send most of the money. The 12-month rolling total smooths out the Eid and seasonal peaks.
