How is the inflation calculation done?
It rescales an amount by the ratio of a Pakistani consumer-price index between two years: value_to = value_from × index_to ÷ index_from. The index is built by chaining official year-on-year CPI inflation, using each year's average of the monthly rates.
How far back does it go?
To 1965. Because year-on-year inflation rates are independent of the index base year, the official CPI inflation series can be chained across rebasings into one continuous price-level index spanning six decades.
Where does the data come from?
Official Consumer Price Index inflation published by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, served through the PakDataHub API and cross-validated against the published figures.
Can I get this data programmatically?
